About
An estimated 5 million workers in 1.3 million U.S. workplaces rely on respirators for protection. Respirators safeguard against insufficient oxygen levels and harmful exposures to dusts, fumes, mists, gases, vapors, and sprays; hazards that can cause serious or fatal health effects. OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard (29 CFR 1910.134) establishes the requirements for safe and effective use. This course provides an in-depth review of the standard, including: - Types of respirators and cartridges, and their appropriate applications - Proper selection, fit, and limitations of respirators - Inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and storage procedures - Medical evaluations and fit testing requirements - Employer program responsibilities under 1910.134.
