CPR and First Aid Training

Safety University (SafetyU™) is an authorized training center for the American Health and Safety
Institute (ASHI). ASHI training programs are currently recognized, accepted, approved, or meet
the requirements of more than 2,100 state regulatory agencies, occupational licensing boards,
national associations, commissions, and councils in more than 120 occupations and professions.

CPR and First Aid


The CPR and AED course is a combined CPR and AED program designed specifically for laypeople. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is based upon the 2015 international consensus on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency cardiovascular care (ECC) science with treatment recommendations (COSTR) and other evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Certification: 2 years

Basic First Aid


The Basic First Aid course was created to help students develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2015 national first aid science advisory board and OSHA’s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace.

CPR, AED & First Aid Combo


The CPR, AED and Basic First Aid combination training course was created to allow instructors an easy option for their students seeking a comprehensive training class. The program helps develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with recommendations of the 2015 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA’s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace.

Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid


The Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid training program provides an ideal training solution for schools, child care providers, youth sports coaches, and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children. This versatile program is based upon the 2015 CPR and First Aid guidelines, caring for our children, 3rd ed; and other evidence-based treatment recommendations.
Certification: 2 years

Basic Life Support (BLS) (Healthcare Provider)


Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. BLS for the Professional Rescuer has been approved for training for emergency medical services personnel and is accepted by the national registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Certification: 2 years

Advanced First Aid


The Advanced First Aid course is designed for the person who needs or desires more first aid training than basic first aid, but not to the level of emergency medical response. Perfect for corporate emergency response teams, this 17-21 hour course presents many of the most common illnesses and injuries responders are likely to encounter.

Emergency Medical Response


The Emergency Medical Response course is designed to provide non-ems responders including government, corporate, law enforcement, and corrections personnel with a level of training comparable to a professional emergency medical responder. This 48-hour course is consistent with national EMS curriculum requirements and educations standards, however, it is not the intent of the emergency medical response program to cross the EMS scope of practice threshold.

Advanced Bleeding Control


The Advanced Bleeding Control course is designed to provide detailed information on the control of severe external bleeding, including the use of direct pressure, commercial pressure bandages, tourniquets and packed dressings. The course is designed for groups and individuals who have a greater than average chance of witnessing an injury event in which heavy bleeding occurs and professional medical care is not readily available or is overwhelmed, such as law enforcement, private security, workplace emergency response team personnel and staff at large events, campuses or large occupied buildings.
